I had it on my i-pod and would wear it around the house after I drove home, finding busy work to do so that I could keep listening. My kitchen was certainly cleaner than average while reading this one!Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00416898799044848769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-523272155293060888.post-7978635301913251262012-04-11T15:04:31.550-04:002012-04-11T15:04:31.550-04:00I loved the audiobook for this one, too. It was the one where I sat in my car listening for 5, 10, even 15 minutes after getting home from work because I just didn't want to stop listening. I don't know that the book would have had the same effect. Also, totally agree that the dialect works so much better in audio form than in print! When I read reviews after finishing the book, I was surprised by how many people were miffed by the dialect. Guess I escaped that.Miss Andersonhttp://busyteacher.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-523272155293060888.post-79061801651998164292012-04-11T12:16:52.159-04:002012-04-11T12:16:52.159-04:00I love Jenna Lamia! In particular, I plan on listening to The Mighty Miss Malone, since I've heard such wonderful things about that book.

I agree that women's rights and civil rights go hand in hand. Women may have gotten a lot of rights (like voting) a lot earlier, but that doesn't mean that the fight for equality was over and done with by the 1960s. I've actually always been really proud to be from "The Equality State"; even though Wyoming is very conservative, they do hold pretty steady to treating all people fair and equal.Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00416898799044848769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-523272155293060888.post-274115707880416412012-04-11T08:41:11.204-04:002012-04-11T08:41:11.204-04:00Oh, I just LOVE the audiobook of the Help, in fact...Oh, I just LOVE the audiobook of the Help, in fact, that's how I re-read it. So, so excellent. ALSO Bahni Turpin! I love her narration. Same with Jenna Lamia!

And to be honest, I really think that civil rights and women's rights go hand in hand, in that all people should have fair and equal treatment, etc.April (BooksandWine)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15268544465552896599noreply@blogger.com
